Jason MacDowall
Financial Advisor
I spent the first chapter of my career in the Nashville music industry. It was a good run, but by 2017 I was ready for something different. What I did not expect was that "something different" would arrive through my late father-in-law, Scott Engebritson, and a crash course in raising capital through Regulation D private stock offerings for startup life insurance and technology companies.
It was not a conventional entry into financial services. Nothing about it was. But the education was real. That work led me into a partnership life insurance agency, then into a fintech role where I consulted financial advisors on Social Security claiming strategies and tax-efficient withdrawal sequencing. In a few short years, I found myself fluent in concepts that most people spend a career piecing together. I look back on that season as pure gift.
Somewhere in the middle of it, I encountered Dan Celia and FISM. The biblical case for responsible investing did not just resonate with me intellectually. It settled into my conscience and would not leave. I realized I could not keep building financial knowledge without putting it toward something I actually believed in. Joining Exodus Financial Services was the natural next step.
Today I hold my Series 7, Series 66, and Life and Health licenses, and I work with clients on financial planning, portfolio management, tax strategy, estate planning, and Social Security claiming. I am especially interested in making complex planning visible, using technology to turn what can feel overwhelming into something a client can see, understand, and act on. A plan only works if the person holding it knows what it means.
What I find most striking about this work is how different every client's story is, and how similar their reason for calling us tends to be. They want to invest in a way that does not grieve the heart of God. So do I. That shared conviction is the foundation everything else is built on.
I grew up in Newark, Delaware, and recently settled in Northwest Arkansas with my family. We found a place with woods, water, and enough quiet to breathe, and it fits us well. Outside of work I hunt, fish, and shoot at local ranges.
